📝 1. Submitting a Number Porting Request

To move an existing business number to Velocity 360, follow these legal and technical steps carefully.

Required Steps for Porting

  1. Download LOA: Download the official Letter of Authorization (LOA) from the Porting & Numbers section of the portal.
  2. Gather Documents: Attach a copy of your most recent invoice from your current carrier.
  3. Ensure Accuracy: Ensure the name and address on the LOA exactly matches the information on your old carrier's invoice. Inaccuracies cause delays.
  4. Submit: Submit the completed LOA and invoice via the portal upload tool.
  5. Crucial Step: DO NOT cancel your current service. Your old carrier must maintain the active number until the porting process is officially complete.

Important Timeline:

The average time for a number to port is 2–4 weeks. We will notify you via email with the Firm Order Commitment (FOC) date once it is confirmed by the losing carrier.

🆕 2. Assigning New Phone Numbers

Velocity360 allows you to instantly provision new local or toll-free numbers and define the first point of contact for routing calls within your phone system.

Steps to Provision and Assign

  1. Navigate to Phone System > Numbers.
  2. Click + Add New Number and select either Local or Toll-Free.
  3. Use the search filter to find a specific area code or number sequence (for vanity numbers).
  4. Once selected, click Purchase & Configure.
  5. Assignment: On the configuration screen, use the dropdown menu to assign the number to an Extension, Ring Group, or IVR Menu.

⚙️ 3. Configuring Number Settings (E911 & Caller ID)

Once a number is assigned, you must complete the configuration by setting its E911 location and customizing the Caller ID details.

E911 and Caller ID

  1. E911 Address: This is mandatory. Enter the physical street address where the phone line will primarily be used. This location is shared with emergency services in the event of a 911 call.
  2. Labeling: Set a descriptive label (e.g., "Sales Hotline" or "Support Line") for easy identification in routing and reporting.
  3. Outbound Caller ID: Define the name that should appear when you make an outbound call using this number (Note: Carrier delivery of this name is not guaranteed).
  4. Save: Click Save Configuration. The number will be active within minutes and ready to receive calls based on its assignment.

Best Practice:

Always ensure your E911 address is accurate and up-to-date. Inaccurate information can delay emergency response.
