✅ 1. Enabling Text Messaging on Your Business Number

Messaging must be activated per-number in the admin portal to allow SMS and MMS communication. This includes required compliance steps for A2P 10DLC registration in the U.S. and Canada.

Activation Steps

  1. Navigate to Phone System > Numbers.
  2. Select the number you wish to enable for texting.
  3. Click the Messaging tab and toggle the "Enable SMS/MMS" option.
  4. Read and accept the A2P 10DLC compliance agreement.
  5. Click Save. Messaging capabilities will be live within 15 minutes upon successful registration.

⚠️ 2. Troubleshooting Message Delivery Failures

If messages aren't sending or receiving, check these common issues:

  • Check Compliance: Ensure your number is fully registered for A2P 10DLC. Unregistered numbers may be blocked by carriers, resulting in message failure.
  • Recipient Number: Verify the recipient number is correct and active.
  • MMS Limits: Check the size of your MMS attachment. Files over 5MB may fail to send.
  • Service Status: Check the Velocity360 Trust Center for any known network outages.
  • DND/Opt-Out: Verify the contact has not replied STOP or been manually marked as Do Not Disturb (DND) in the CRM.
