Postmaster Tools

Google Postmaster Tools (GPT) is a free service from Google that gives senders insights into their email performance with Gmail users. It provides data on your domain reputation, IP reputation, user-reported spam rates, and delivery errors.

If you send a significant volume of email to Gmail addresses, setting this up is highly recommended. It acts as an early warning system for deliverability issues and helps you maintain a healthy sender reputation.

Setting up GPT involves verifying ownership of your sending domain by adding a unique DNS record.

Verification Steps (Requires DNS Access)

1. Go to postmaster.google.com and sign in with a Google account.
2. Click the "+" button to add a new domain.
3. Enter your sending domain (e.g., yourcompany.com).
4. Google will provide you with a unique TXT record.
5. In Velocity360, navigate to Settings > Domains and select your domain.
6. Go to the "DNS Records" tab and add this TXT record provided by Google.
7. Wait a few minutes (or hours) for the DNS to propagate, then click "Verify" in Google Postmaster Tools.

Once verified, it will take a day or two for Google to start populating data, assuming you are sending enough email volume to Gmail users.
